BJ Challenge (cause one of us sucks) 2

It doesn't hurt to use our avatars as inspiration for real life fashion. Judie and I decided to work on the BJ Challenge (cause one of us sucks) and will explore how to dress different shapes even if the shapes we feature are unlike our usual avatar shape or our real life shapes. Surely one or more will SUCK big time! LOL

All styles are not meant for all shapes. For this first Shape Comparison post, we will post pics vertically, and comment a little more seriously than I plan to in the future. 

I decided to use the Hilly Haalen (hh) dress, which is one of the Group Gifts available at (hh). There is something there for EVERYONE and (hh) offers beautiful, updated outfits and separates for great prices as well. Pay attention for events featuring (hh), as I bought a beautiful outfit at an event last fall and it took me some work to figure out how to grow Bo up to look less like a little girl in Mommy's outfit and more like an adult woman of the world.
We are not endorsing one shop over any other, this happened to be my first choice for this week and I give the shop a big thumbs up!

Apple

In my opinion (and remember that I am not the fashion expert of our team), drawing in the waist is a good idea for Apple figures. Knee length or shorter are good, as these ladies usually have nice legs and want to accentuate that. Having a neckline too high is not good. It's probably better to try to elongate the neckline. Cap sleeves are a definite no-no, as it can make a broad shoulder with nice legs look like an American football player.

Banana

This is a perfect dress for the banana shape in my opinion. Bananas can wear anything on the top to draw attention up and out. Bananas can get away with belted or wrap waistlines to create the illusion of a waist. As well... hey these girls can get away with any length dress. 

Hourglass

The key to an hourglass figure is to not cover it up. Accentuate the curves! Don't wear bulky tops or jackets or you will create the illusion of having an Apple shape. Show if off girls!

Pear

Necklines should be a bit lower. It's important to draw the attention up to try to achieve balance. Tops should not fall at the widest part of the hip. Peplum or empire tops are usually nice - as are faux wrap tops. Just balance the sleeves and chest and dress the bottom more simply. They should either be shorter to hit at the smaller waist line or open cardigan or jacket that also doesn't hit at the widest part of the hip. Also pants that are too narrow or short make the body look choppy, so balance trousers with top and bring color UP!
